Welcome to Laekna Health Coaching!

What is Laekna Health Coaching?

At Laekna Health Coaching, I serve as a guide and base of support in the journey of self-discovery and self-care. As your health coach, I also provide a safe space for my clients to be creative and express themselves in developing their health and wellness lifestyle changes. My approach to health coaching is to share in the journey with my clients, helping them to overcome obstacles or barriers, manage setbacks and approach their overall health in a holistic way. 

Health coaches meet their clients where they are along that journey.  Your plan may involve areas of physical health, mental health, home cooking and eating out, our relationship with food, community involvement or finding your tribe, creativity, financial health, joy, and relationships. 

Health Coaches help you get "unstuck".  

Life happens. We all experience setbacks, and frustration, and experience those feelings of being stuck. As your health coach, together we will address these feelings and explore where the potential root cause may be and is it playing a role in holding you back. Using meaningful conversations and motivational techniques, together we will work to overcome those obstacles. As a survivor of grief and unhealthy lifestyle choices, I am empathetic and here to walk with you and share in your experiences.

Support, accountability, and encouragement!

Some of the most important components in achieving long-term lifestyle changes are support, encouragement, and accountability. 

  • Support is vital in your personal and professional relationships. Being able to share your health and wellness choices with family and friends not only is exciting for you but also beneficial for the people you care about. Health Coaches also provide that support and meet you in every area of your health journey. We provide support for your nutritional goals, your physical activity goals, and other areas which may deeply impact your life.

  • Accountability means “being responsible for the actions and decisions you have made”. In a health coaching environment, ultimately you as the client, are accountable to yourself for the decisions you are making. Health coaches, share in those experiences with you, providing guidance along the way. Often, I have clients who ask for an accountability email plan, text reminders, or phone calls to provide that base of support and accountability. 

  • Encouragement is the key to success. This holds true in holding a positive and encouraging to ourselves but also holding that space for each other. For example, health coaching is a vehicle provided for you to explore your strengths, self-awareness, and empowerment. Clients know the truth. Clients are well informed and are familiar with what has worked and what has not worked for them in the past. They have had discussions with their providers. Health coaches encourage clients to explore their truths and by. Accessing their strengths, be successful. 

  • Unconditional Support – I am here to be by your side without judgment. Change can be challenging. It takes consistency, resiliency, tenacity, and grit. More importantly, it takes believing in yourself, and you can accomplish your goals. We will always celebrate the victories and embrace the lessons we learn. From the small things to the things achieved over several months! Grow, celebrate, and live!

I have spent my entire career searching for a comprehensive way to help people achieve their best life. As a clinical exercise physiologist, I’ve worked with patients diagnosed with chronic diseases and illnesses ranging from skeletal disorders to heart disease. I have worked with the military, high school athletes, and collegiate athletes. This has given me a lot of experience, but I have also found that being healthy and well is so much more than exercise and food. They both play a vital role of course. But if we look at our health from the big picture perspective, addressing all aspects of our life, we can begin to see how each area overflows and has a direct impact on the other. Very similar to how our bodies work and function. For example, if we have a knee injury, the body finds a way to work around the discomfort, often compensating with other areas (hips, back, etc.) Our health and wellness are very similar to this. For example, if we are struggling with our weight, it may affect our mood, or our financial health, and may cause stress and anxiety. 

I have found approaching our health in a holistic or comprehensive way, using the techniques and tools I have learned, best equips us to be successful and find joy. Most importantly, I understand. I have lived through frustration, grief, and hardship and I have found joy again. It has taken commitment and consistency, and it works. I want to be here for you. Again, I get it, I’ve lived it. It wasn’t until I started exploring the field of health coaching, did I see this balance clearly. I come from a space of experience, both professionally and personally. of grief, depression, anxiety, and low self-confidence and self-esteem.
